| Michael Pauker Michael Pauker was born in the USSR in 1952. At the age of 21, he graduated from the College of Arts in Yachtrinburg - his hometown in central Russia. From 1976 to 1979, he worked in Moscow as an illustrator of art magazines and, later, of children's books. His first exhibitions took place in Yachtrinburg and quickly expanded all over the USSR. In 1987, Pauker was accepted as a member of the Artist's Organization and took part in all its activities in Moscow. In 1988, he presented his works in Czechoslovakia. In 1989, he took part in a Miniatures exhibition at the Del Blue Gallery in Toronto, Canada. In 1990, he took part in an important exhibition in New York of Jewish Artists from Russia. Since 1990, Pauker has lived in Israel. He held a one-man show at the Bat Yarn Museum and his work was well acclaimed. In 1993, he went on a trip around the world and, on his return, made a series of paintings, many of which reflect the memories of his adventures. He painted landscapes showing exotic seascapes of boats and trees in bright Mediterranean colors. |
