Biography


Michael Kachan

In 1964, Kachan was born in the country side of Armenia. There he completed secondary school and was a noteworthy student specializing in art. As a result, he earned a position in the Kiev Institute of Arts from which he graduated with honors.

Before immigrating to Israel in 1992 he was selected to represent Ukrainian artists in a group exhibition which toured most major cities of the Soviet Union. His playful images are dazzling suprises to the viewer as he unfolds rich and sensuous colors and textures not seen from another artist since the South American masster, Boulanger.

A partial list of his accomplishments includes one-person exhibitions at the Jewish Community Center in Rome, Binyanei Hauma in Jerusalem, the Theresa Coshin Gallery in Paris, the Avarim Gallrery in Tel Aviv, The Art Expo in New York. He has also exhibited in juried group exhivitions in Brighton, England and Hamburg, Germany.
