David Edmund The artist was born and raised in Brazil, of an American mother and Austrian father. He started painting when he was in his teens studied art with a host of private tutors and later at the prestigious Center for Visual Arts of Rio de Janeiro. Rubens Gershman, one of Brazil’s most celebrated contemporary artists, founded this well-known public institution in the mid 70’s. He has worked as a graphic designer in the public relations & advertising fields. He has also worked in the travel industry for years, which gave him the opportunity to learn the colors and flavors of a variety of cultures worldwide. His style incorporates warm colors and alternating palette knife with brush work, and as a result his works tend to feature a textural look. He now lives and works in Florida, where he maintains his studio. His art is sold and collected internationally in the United States, Europe, and Brazil. |
