Joseph Brown Joseph Brown was born in New Jersey. Early in his career he developed a vision and style of his own, influenced by the Renaissance masters and Greco Roman history. Although alluding to myths and fables of previous times, his work somehow relates to us directly today. Women play the key role in his work; they lounge, meditate, and play in a seemingly private world, cocooned from the outside. For Brown, the beauty of the femail form and the female sentiment is one of the great trascending experiences of life. In addition to ongoing mural projects and portrait work, Mr. Brown has lectured at the New York University and the Fashion Institute of Techonology, New Yor City. He aslo has tought at Berkeley College in New Jersey. Recently, The Sola Museum has published a book of Joseph's Sketches and life sized figures. |
